Parenting is a funny, little thing. We all think we know how we’re going to handle it until our precious little angel transforms into a red-faced gremlin throwing herself backwards out of your arms right there in the Target checkout line. To save yourself from the embarrassment that this is actually your child, you give them absolutely anything they want to stop the horror. After you utter your sincerest apologies to everyone in line and the gracious cashier offering stickers to diffuse the situation, you dart out the fiery gates of hell and into your SUV hoping your reputation makes it out alive.
As you drive away, questioning your life and whether or not you should cancel the rest of the day’s activities, you glance into the rearview mirror only to find your little monster transforming back into her angelic self. As her eyelids slowly begin to betray her consciousness, it is then you realize… it was nap time.
If there is one thing parenting has taught me, it’s all about time management.
I learned very quickly my first daughter was not the go-with-the-flow baby I had hoped for. Then again, I was not the go-with-the-flow type mother either. How did I survive? SCHEDULES. After a lot of research, I figured out all there is to know about sleep and the different sleep schedules and feeding schedules, and so on. I like to think I got really good at time management.
Wake. Breakfast. Play. Nap #1. Lunch. One hour outing. Nap #2. Play. Dinner. Bedtime.
My only problem…I never know what time it is.
I’m good at knowing how much time I’ve got, but not really good at the concept of time.
I’ll be ready in 2 minutes! actually means I’ll be ready in about 8. And even when I am ready, stealing a few extra kisses and a couple more hugs always takes longer than I think it does.
Anyways, all this to say…if you are anything like me, you might want to consider investing in some clocks for your home. Like this one. I can’t even begin to tell you how simple, yet life changing this was for me.
It’s ridiculous I know.
Or better yet, invest in a unique watch for yourself. I’ve never been an accessories type girl, but there are a few things I just can’t live without these days. I recently got my hands on this JORD wood watch and I’ve got all the heart eyes for it. So not only do I always know the time, a cool watch instantly makes me feel somewhat put together when the truth is I haven’t washed my hair in 6 days.
Don’t look at me. Look at my watch.
Plus there’s something so refreshing about looking at the actual face of a clock and not an iPhone.
Ladies, if you are looking to score the perfect gift for your man, look no further. Plus you can make it a one-of-a-kind piece by choosing to make it an engraved gift. I’ve got my eyes on this one I know my husband would love. He’s definitely an accessories type man.
And Fellas, if you are looking to score on a Tuesday… an engraved gift from JORD will surely do the trick.
